The collection consists of papers of J. Slater Wight from 1943-1950. The papers consist mainly of correspondence between Wight and Methodist Bishop Arthur J. Moore regarding the establishment and maintenance of a mission in the Katako Kombe District of the Belgian Congo. The collection also contains circular letters from missionaries Alexander James and Hazel Hurley Reid and Henry T. Wheeler reporting their work in the Central Congo Conference.
